  • Increasing citizenship and social inclusion

A vacancy has arisen for Maternity Cover for a Youth Inclusion Worker.  This is a challenging role which includes the engagement, support and organisation of opportunities for Gypsy and Traveller children and young people.

The post will deliver one to one and group activities to children and young people from Gypsy and Traveller communities at appropriate settings across Leeds (including sites, roadside and home visits). The Youth Inclusion Worker will support young people from these communities to access education, training, development and employment opportunities.

They will provide a range of information and support around wellbeing and work with young people about the issues affecting them. The worker will build positive relationships with other providers to increase the accessibility of these services to Gypsy and Traveller young people. The worker will work with young people in an asset based way on voice and influence projects to ensure the voice of Gypsy Traveller young people in citywide forums and decisions.

The role will be for 9 months with a further possible 3 months, starting in mid-August 2016
