Leeds City Council responds quickly to families on camps!

We are delighted to say that once again Leeds City Council are leading the way in responding to the needs of our families living on ‘roadside’ camps. Families will not be evicted during this time say Leeds City Council bosses. Using good practice developed here in Leeds - negotiated stopping - has enabled a fast response including providing much needed services to vulnerable families. Great work Leeds! Once again we show ourselves to be a compassionate city (and we reduce risk and save money!). Lets hope the other West Yorkshire authorities quickly follow suit.

Gypsy and Traveller groups across the country, very much supported by our work here in West Yorkshire, are supporting the government to provide expert and timely advice to Local Authorities regarding the needs of roadside Gypsies and Travellers at this very worrying time.
