Work with us
Working at Leeds GATE means joining a strong team supporting our members and each other. Join a vibrant and established, award-winning civil society organisation with a national profile for Gypsies and Travellers.

Our members say Leeds GATE is a safe space and a home away from home. For our staff we work hard to create an environment that allows them to do their best work. We start from respecting people’s strengths and what value they bring, creating a safe and supportive environment for people to grow and learn.
We are extremely proud of our strong vision and values, developed collectively and owned by the members and the staff team. They guide a lot of the work we do day-to-day.
Leeds GATE has a blended staff team with staff members both from Gypsy and Traveller communities and not. To make this a reality, we will sometimes follow slightly different recruitment processes to ensure our job roles are fully accessible to all candidates.
Safer Recruitment
We maintain equality, diversity and inclusion in our Safer Recruitment practices.
All individuals regardless of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage, civil partnerships, race, religion, or belief, sex and sexual orientation are encouraged to apply when we advertise a new role. We ensure members are involved in recruitment decision making and in the development of procedures.
We are committed to promoting safeguarding and the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults. Therefore, all appointments are subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks and relevant roles will need to complete an enhanced DBS check.
