Our Strategy 2026-2031

Read our strategy

Over the last two decades we have grown from a local organisation into one working across Leeds, Bradford, Calderdale, Kirklees and Wakefield. Alongside our members and partners, we have helped develop the nationally recognised Negotiated Stopping approach, created culturally informed mental health services and bought our own community centre.

Everything we do is rooted in community leadership. We are proud to be member-led, and over 50 families were involved in deciding our strategic aims and the change they wish to see.

Looking ahead to the future, we are really proud of our plan for the next five years and what we hope to achieve, led by our membership.

Focus areas

We work tirelessly to address the issues which affect the homes, health, education, employment and circumstances of Gypsy & Traveller people, as guided by our members.

Leeds GATE works as a family, where each member is equal and invited to the table to guide our work. Come in and sit down, the kettle is always on.
