We have a full program of events happening across June at our centre in Cross Green.

The Gypsy and Traveller community we are ran by and for are more likely to face emotional distress and mental health issues, due to the barriers they may face with access to services, discrimination and the negative narratives about the community fed by the media.Â

Join our online workshop on 24th May from 10am-12pm to learn, discuss and align our goals. We’ll be running this with the Moving for Change network.
We want to hear about your experience and call on Probation Services to do more to support Gypsy and Traveller people and their needs.

Launched today, Media That Moves is a report from Leeds Gypsy and Traveller Exchange, London Gypsies and Travellers, and research partner Public Interest Research Centre- read it here!

Ellie Rogers is the new CEO at Leeds Gypsy and Traveller Exchange (GATE). Ellie officially took over this role in January 2021 after a handover period with outgoing CEO, Helen Jones.

Win Lawlor, Strategic Policy and Partnerships Manager at Irish Community Care based in the North West writes with Leeds GATE CEO Helen Jones to note the passing of Winifred (Cussy) Delaney who was born in Dublin on the 9th of February 1959.
Like everyone else during the Covid-19 crisis Gypsy and Traveller people are struggling. But unlike many others they have particular issues to face, especially those families not able to fit onto our overcrowded public sites, or fearful of the consequences for the spread of Covid-19 if they do.

Leeds GATE Advocacy Worker, Jacopo Roncone, joined the organisation in January 2020. Orginally from Northern Italy, when not working for Leeds GATE, Jacopo enjoys being with trees and nature.
